81/82 Ascocentrum orchid
A well know native of North Western Thailand is the Ascocentrum family of orchids: Ascocentrum curvifolium (Khem Dang) blooms around April-May, Ascocentrum ampullaceum (Khem Muang) blooms around March to May, Ascocentrum miniatum (Khem Sad) bloom from March to May. These species are often used by orchid growers as one of the parents in hybriding to get new orchid varieties.
